유엔 안전보장이사회는 국제사법재판소가 서부 다르푸르
지역에서 전쟁 범죄를 저지른 자들을 재판 할 수 있도록 수단 정부가 협력할 것을 촉구했습니다.
16일 발표한 결의안에서 안보리는 수단
정부와 다르푸르 사태에 관여한 모든 단체들이 “다르푸르에서 자행된 범죄에 대한 면책이 더이상 지속되지 못하도록
행동할 것”을 촉구했습니다.
안보리는 찬성 15표, 반대 0표로 만장일치로 이같은 결의안을 채택했습니다.
수단 정부는 국제사법재판소에 어떤 용의자도 인도하지
않을 것임을 확실히 했습니다. 검사들은 두명의 수단인들에게 체포영장을
발부했습니다. 이들은 정부관료인 아흐케드 하룬과 반군 지도자인 알리 쿠샤이브입니다.
이들 둘은 전쟁 범죄과 아울러, 살인, 고문, 강간과 강제 이동 등 인류에 대한 범죄 등 51건의 혐의가 있습니다.

The United Nations Security Council is demanding that Sudan cooperate with the International Criminal Court and help bring Darfur war crimes suspects to justice.In a resolution today (Monday), the Security Council urged Sudan's government and all other parties in the Darfur conflict to, in the Council's words, "put an end to impunity for the crimes committed in Darfur."
The Council adopted the resolution on a 15-to-nothing vote.
Sudan has made it clear it will not surrender any suspects to the court. Prosecutors have issued arrest warrants for two Sudanese nationals -- government official Ahmed Harun and militia leader Ali Kushayb.
The two men are charged with 51 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including acts of murder, torture, rape and forcible displacement.
