Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says Iran's controversial nuclear program must be stopped "by all possible means."
Mr. Olmert said Tuesday that the world community must use "drastic measures" to convince Iran that pursuing nuclear weapons will have "devastating" consequences.
He delivered his strongest warning so far on the Iranian nuclear issue at a Washington conference held by the pro-Israel lobbying group, AIPAC.
Israel, the United States and their allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under cover of a civilian energy program - a charge Tehran denies.
Mr. Olmert said international sanctions imposed on Iran for refusing to suspend nuclear activities should be considered as only an "initial step." He urged countries that refine gasoline to restrict deliveries of the commodity to Iran.
