한편, 미군은 모술에서 무장병력들을 목표로 한 작전을 전개하다 교전이 벌어져 이라크 민간인이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다. 군 대변인은 미군 주도 연합군은 민간인 사상자에 대해 유감스러우며 '적대적인 위협'에 대해서만 개입하도록 사전 주의를 기울이고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
이에 앞서 미군은 이라크 경찰과 미군이 23일 바그다드 인근 시아파 장악지역에서 전개한 작전에서 4백여 명을 억류했다고 밝혔습니다. 목격자들에 따르면 이번 작전은 급진 시아파 지도자 모크타다 알 사드르에 대한 추모자들이 있는 사원을 겨냥한 것이었습니다.

Iraqi security sources say three people have been killed and four wounded in a bomb attack on a minibus in Baghdad today (Saturday).
It was not clear if the bomb was planted on the minibus or if the vehicle drove over a roadside bomb.
In other violence today, the U.S. military says an Iraqi civilian was killed when he was caught in the crossfire during an operation targeting militants in Mosul. A military spokesman says the U.S.-led coalition regrets any civilian casualties, and takes every precaution to engage only "hostile threats."
Meanwhile, the U.S. military says Iraqi police and U.S. troops detained 400 people during search operations Friday in Shi'ite neighborhoods of Baghdad. Witnesses say a mosque was targeted where there were worshippers loyal to radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
