이와는 별도로 미군 당국은 8일 바그다드 내 사드르 시에서 발생한 로켓 공격으로 2명이 죽고 8명이 부상을 입었다고 밝혔습니다. 연합군은 로켓 공격에 가담한 무장세력 2명을 사살했습니다.
바그다드 내 로켓 공격은 지난 3월 이후 증가했으며, 이와 관련해 누리 알-말리키 총리는 시아파 무장세력에 대한 단속을 명령했습니다.
한편 미군은 이라크 내 알-카에다 지도자를 아직 붙잡지 못했다고 말했습니다. 미군은 아부 아유브 알-마스리가 모술에서 기습작전으로 붙잡혔다는 이라크 내무성 대변인의 말을 부인했습니다.

The BBC says the rocket left a large hole in the roof of the building, which is located in central Baghdad.
The U.S. military says a rocket attack Thursday killed two people and wounded eight others in Baghdad's Sadr City district. The military says coalition forces killed two militants involved in the attack.
Rocket attacks in the capital have intensified since late March, when Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ordered a crackdown on Shi'ite militias.
In other news, U.S. military officials in Iraq earlier today said the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq has not been captured.
They denied reports from an Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman (Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf), who told Iraqi state television on Thursday that Abu Ayyub al-Masri had been detained in a raid in the city of Mosul.
