양국이 최근 시민의 자유와 벨로루시의 인권문제 등을 놓고 갈등을 빚고있는 가운데, 벨로루시 당국은 지난 30일 미국 외교관 10명에 대해 72시간 안에 자국을 떠날 것을 명령했다고 발표했습니다.
미국은 이번 출국 명령이 불공정하다며 이에 대한 반응으로 여러가지 대안을 검토중이라고 밝혔습니다.
미국과 유럽연합은 벨로루시의 열악한 인권상황과 선거부정에 따라 벨로루시에 대해 여행제한과 경제제재를 부과했습니다.

Eleven U.S. diplomats have left Belarus following the recent escalation in diplomatic tensions between Washington and Minsk.
Today's (Saturday's) departures left just four American staff at the U.S. Embassy in the Belarusian capital.
Authorities in Minsk announced Wednesday that they had ordered 10 American diplomats to leave Belarus within 72 hours, in a mounting dispute between the two countries about civil liberties and human rights in Belarus. (An 11th embassy staffer who also left the country Saturday had not been named "persona non grata" by Belarus.)
The United States has called the Belarusian order unjust and said that officials in Washington are considering a wide range of options in response.
