오늘 봉송행사에서는 수천명의 중국 관중들이 봉송로를 따라 중국 오성기를 흔들며 환호했습니다. 봉송행사 직전 인권 운동가들과 중국 지지자들간에 고함이 오갔으며, 티베트 기로 온몸을 감싼 티베트 지지 시위자가 경찰에 의해 끌려갔습니다. 홍콩 당국은 유럽과 미국에서 반복된 성화 봉송 저지 시위를 차단하기 위해 티베트 지지자와 인권 운동가 여러명을 추방했습니다.

The Hong Kong leg of the Beijing Olympic torch relay has concluded without any of the chaotic demonstrations that marred the torch's international journey.
During an eight-hour relay today (Friday), more than 100 torch bearers carried the flame over long stretches of rain-soaked highways and bridges and concluded its journey at the territory's Golden Bauhinia Square.
The torch was also ferried by traditional dragon boats across Hong Kong's famous harbor.
Thousands of pro-Chinese spectators, many of them visiting from the mainland, lined the relay route cheering and waving national flags. Supporters outnumbered the handful of human rights activists who gathered to protest Beijing's crackdown of anti-government demonstrations in March.
During the relay, security forces whisked away several pro-Tibetan activists, including a 21-year-old university student who wrapped herself in the Tibetan flag.
