The United Nations Security Council is discussing the situation in Zimbabwe, where officials have yet to release results from the presidential election held one month ago today.
The council met behind closed doors today (Tuesday) as Western nations put new pressure on President Robert Mugabe to admit defeat.
In Washington, President Bush said it is clear the Zimbabwean people voted for change, and that the will of the people must be respected.
In Luxembourg, European Union foreign ministers called for a worldwide arms embargo on Zimbabwe.
Human rights groups say members of Mr. Mugabe's ZANU-PF party have been beating and intimidating members of their main political rival, the Movement for Democratic Change.
The MDC won control of parliament in the March 29th elections and says its leader Morgan Tsvangirai defeated Mr. Mugabe in the presidential vote.
