5일오전, 한국의 화물선과 중국 어선이 충돌하는 사고가 발생, 중국인 선원 5명이 실종됐습니다.
한국 해안경비대는 한국 제주도 마라도 남서쪽 370㎞ 해상에서 30톤짜리 중국어선이 6천톤 규모의 한국 화물선과 충돌했다고 밝혔습니다.
사건 발생당시 해상에는 짙은 안개가 끼어있었던 것으로 알려졌습니다.
한국 해경측은 선원 7명 중 2명은 구조됐으나 나머지 5명은 실종됐다고 밝혔습니다.
해경측은 또 실종자 수색을 위해 구난경비함 2척을 현지에 급파했다고 말했습니다.
Five sailors are missing after a Chinese fishing boat collided with a South Korean cargo ship today (Saturday).
The South Korean coast guard says the 30-ton fishing boat collided with the six-thousand-ton freighter in foggy weather and went down 370 kilometers south of the island of Mara.
Maritime officials say the freighter rescued two sailors, but five others disappeared.
The coast guard says two South Korean patrol boats have been sent to the area to search for the missing.
