Palestinian medical officials say Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian civilian today (Thursday) in the Gaza Strip, near the border with Israel.
Officials said a 60-year-old farmer was killed near the town of Al-Qararah in the southern Gaza Strip.
An Israeli army spokesman said the report of the incident is being investigated.
Separately, the Islamic militant group Hamas said an explosion killed two members today at a training base in Gaza. The group at first blamed the explosion on Israel, but later said there had been no attack.
It is not clear what caused the blast.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army carried out an air raid in the northern Gaza Strip, targeting Islamic Jihad militants. At least 12 Palestinians, including four militants, were wounded.
Israel frequently targets Gaza militants who launch rockets into Israel.
