미국 연방준비제도이사회가 어제 이자율을 0.75% 내린 데 힘입어 아시아 증시가 오늘 급등세를 보였습니다.
일본의 니케이 지수는 어제보다 2.5% 상승한 채로 장을 마감했고, 홍콩과 상하이 주가지수도 2% 이상 올랐습니다.
미국 증시도 어제 하루 상승폭으로는 5년만에 최고치를 기록했습니다. 반면 오늘 유럽의 주요 주가지수들은 어제보다 약간 떨어지는 모습을 보였습니다.
어제 미국의 연방준비제도이사회는 이자율을 지난 2005년 2월이후 가장 낮은 수준인 2.25%로 내렸습니다.

Asian markets closed sharply higher following the U.S. central bank's decision to cut a key interest rate by three-quarters of a percent, but European markets are less certain the world's largest economy is back on track.
Japan's Nikkei index closed up two-and-a-half percent, while Hong Kong is up more than two percent.
European markets are lower. London is down about one percent, while Paris and Frankfurt are just slightly lower.
Tuesday, U.S. stocks had their biggest one-day gain in five years, while the major stock indexes in London, Frankfurt and Paris closed up around three-and-a-half percent.
On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee reduced the federal funds rate to two-and-a-quarter percent, its lowest level since February, 2005. The move makes it less expensive for banks to lend money to each other.
