모스타파 푸르-모하마디 내무장관은 15일 보수파가 71 퍼센트 이상의 의석을 차지했다고 밝혔습니다.
유럽연합 (EU)는 16일 이란의 이번 총선이 자유롭고 공정한 분위기에서 치뤄지지 못했다며 우려를 표시했습니다.
EU는 이란의 선거절차는 국제 기준에 크게 미달되는 것이며, 모든 성향의 후보들이 골고루 후보 명부에 오르지 못했다는 점에서 제한적이었다고 말했습니다.
미국은 이란 유권자들이 여러 다양한 성향의 후보들에게 투표할 수 없었다는 점에서 부정 선거라고 말했습니다.
이란 헌법수호위원회는 앞서 후보 자격 심사에서 개혁파 후보 수백명을 탈락시켰으며, 주요 개혁파 연합은 전체 4천5백명의 후보 가운데 1백명 밖에 후보를 내지 못했습니다.
그러나 개혁파 연합 대변인은 여러 규제에도 불구하고 개혁파가 국회 의석 2백90석 가운데 34석을 얻었다며, 이번 선거는 성공적이라고 말했습니다.

Partial results in Iran's parliamentary elections indicate the country's conservatives have won a large share of seats in parliament.
Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi said (Saturday) conservative candidates have won more than 71 percent of the seats.
The European Union today (Sunday) expressed concern about the elections, saying they were neither free nor fair. It said Iran's election procedures fell below international standards and did not allow for a truly competitive ballot.
The United States said the election was rigged because voters were not able to cast ballots for a full range of candidates.
Iran's Guardian Council banned hundreds of reformists from running, and the main reformist coalition fielded only about 100 candidates out of 45-hundred overall.
But a coalition spokesman describes the elections as a success, saying that despite the restrictions, reformists have won 34 seats outright in the 290 seat parliament.
