중국이 베이징 올림픽에 대비해 교통 안전과 항공기 보안을 강화하는 새 규제를 발표했습니다.
중국 민항총국은 오늘 발표한 성명에서 항공기 탑승객들의 화물 검색을 더 강화하고 국내선 비행기에 액체반입을 전면 금지한다고 밝혔습니다.
중국 민항총국은 보안검색과 탑승수속을 신속히 처리해주는 서비스도 중단하기로 했습니다.
이같은 조치는 중국당국이 신장지역에서 베이징으로 가는 여객기 납치 음모를 적발한지 일주일도 안돼 이뤄진 것입니다.
China has announced new regulations to increase airline security and ensure transportation safety in the run up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In a statement posted on its Web site today (Thursday), the Civil Aviation Administration of China said staff will open and check more bags. Passengers will be banned from carrying any kind of liquid aboard domestic flights.
The administration also said "easy check-in" services, which allow passengers to pay for the privilege of speedier security checks and priority boarding, would be banned.
The new rules come less than a week after the Chinese government announced that it recently foiled a hijacking attempt on a passenger plane flying from China's restive northwestern region of Xinjiang to Beijing.
State media in China have called the alleged hijacking a "planned terrorist attack."
