라이스 장관은 이날, 루이스 이나시오 룰라 다 실바 대통령과 셀소 어모림 외무장관, 무역과 금융, 지역안보, 무기확산 금지와 무기통제, 생물연료에 관해 회담을 가졌습니다.
라이스 장관은 또한 주민의 80%가 아프리카계인 살바도르 다 바히아 시를 방문합니다.
브라질은 엄청난 농업 잠재력과 특히 사탕수수에서 추출하는 에타놀 에너지 분야에서 한걸음 앞서가고 있습니다.
라이스 장관은 다음에 칠레를 방문해 미셸 바체레트 대통령과 알레한드로 폭스리 외무장관과 회담을 갖고 상호이익에 관해 논의할 예정입니다.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Brazil today (Thursday) on a trip in which she will also travel to Chile to highlight what the United States says is a robust relationship with two strategic regional partners.
Rice was meeting in Brazil with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Foreign Minister Celso Amorim for talks on trade, finance, regional security, nonproliferation and arms control and biofuels.
She was also visiting the northeastern Brazilian city of Salvador da Bahia, where more than 80 percent of the population is of African origin.
Brazil has been touting its agricultural potential and energy experience, especially in ethanol, which the country makes from sugar cane.
Rice travels on to Santiago, Chile, to meet with President Michelle Bachelet and Foreign Minister Alejandro Foxley for talks on issues of mutual interest.
