Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will take up a teaching position at America's prestigious Yale University.
The university announced on Friday that it had awarded Mr. Blair a teaching fellowship (--the Howland Distinguished Fellowship --) for the academic year beginning in September 2008. Mr. Blair will lead a seminar on issues of faith and globalization.
He is expected to continue his work as representative of the Middle East Quartet -- the group formed by the U.S., the United Nations, the European Union and Russia, and charged with negotiating a peace agreement in the Middle East.
The former British leader also is to launch a Tony Blair Faith Foundation later this year.
Mr. Blair stepped down as Britain's prime minister last June, after 10 years in office.
