사우디 경찰이 알-카에다 조직망을 재건하려던 28명의 테러 용의자들을 체포했다고, 내무부가 밝혔습니다.
사우디 내무부는 3일 발표한 성명에서, 이 용의자들이 주민들로부터 자금을 모금하라고 지시하는 알-카에다 의 2인자 아이만 알-자와리의 녹음메시지를 사용하고 있었다고 밝혔습니다.
이 녹음메시지는 아프가니스탄과 파키스탄에 수감돼 있는 테러용의자 가족들을 위해 기부금을 낼 것을 촉구하고 있었습니다.
내무부는 메카를 방문했던 사람이 이 메시지를 휴대전화에 녹음해 갖고 들어왔다고 말했습니다.
사우디 경찰은 지난 해 12월에도 또 다른 무장세력 28명을 체포한 바 있습니다.

The Saudi Interior Ministry says police have arrested 28 people suspected of trying to rebuild the al-Qaida network in the kingdom.
A ministry statement today (Monday) said the suspects were using a recording from al-Qaida's second in command, Ayman al-Zawahri, to raise money from people. The recording asks for donations for the families of prisoners in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The ministry said the recording was carried to Saudi Arabia on a mobile telephone by a person who had visited Mecca.
Saudi police arrested 28 other suspected al-Qaida militants in December. The suspects were accused of planning attacks around the holy city of Mecca during the the annual Muslim Hajj pilgrimage.
