파키스탄에서 페르베즈 무샤라프 대통령의 사임을 촉구해왔던 한 야당 법률가가 2일 거의 넉달 동안의 가택 연금에서 풀려났습니다.
파키스탄 관계관들은 이 법률가의 석방 이유는 공개하지 않았습니다.
아이트자즈 아산 씨는 무샤라프 대통령이 지난해 11월 3일 비상 사태를 선포한 지 불과 몇시간 만에 가택연금상태에 놓였습니다.
아산 씨는 파키스탄의 대법원 변호사회 회장으로 무샤라프 대통령의 재선과 육군참모총장 겸임에 반대했던 이프티카르 무하마드 초드리 대법원장과 다른 수십명의 법관들에 대한 파면조치에 반대하는 야당 운동에 앞장서 왔습니다.
아산 씨는 2일 파면된 법관들을 복직시키기 위한 법조계 운동은 계속될 것이라고 말했습니다.

A top Pakistani opposition lawyer, who has called for President Pervez Musharraf to resign, was released from house arrest today (Sunday) after nearly four months detention.
Pakistani officials have given no reason for his release.
Aitzaz Ahsan was detained on November third, hours after Mr. Musharraf declared emergency rule.
Ahsan heads Pakistan's Supreme Court Bar Association. He spearheaded an opposition campaign against the president for suspending Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and dozens of other judges opposed to his re-election while still army chief.
Ahsan said today (Sunday) that the lawyers' movement to reinstate the fired judges will continue.
