이번 집회는 지난 12월 27일 부토 전 총리가 암살된 후 파키스탄 인민당이 처음 연 주요 집회입니다.
자르다리 씨는 자신은 파키스탄을 구할 책임이 있다고 모여든 군중에게 말했습니다.
자르다리 씨는 정부가 선거부정을 자행할 것이라고 야당이 주장하고 있음에도 불구하고, 선거에 참여해 민주주의를 위해 싸우겠다고 다짐했습니다.

Pakistani officials say a suicide bomber attacked an opposition party rally in the northwest Saturday, killing at least 25 people and injuring some 35 others.
The bomb exploded at an Awami National Party rally in the town of Charsadda in North West Frontier Province. At least two security personnel were among the dead.
The attack comes as fears of violence grow, ahead of crucial parliamentary elections set for February 18th.
Also Saturday, Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, drew an estimated crowd of 100-thousand people to a political rally in southern Sindh, Bhutto's home province. It was the Pakistan Peoples Party's first major rally since her assassination at a campaign stop on December 27th.
Zardari told the crowd he has a responsibility to save Pakistan. He vowed to fight for democracy by participating in the elections, despite opposition allegations that the government will rig the polls.
