Pakistani officials say an attacker on a motorcycle rammed into a military minibus near the army's National Logistics Cell (today / Monday). Rawalpindi is the headquarters of the Pakistani army, located just outside the capital, Islamabad.
Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi on December 27 as she was leaving a rally, leading to the postponement of Pakistani parliamentary elections until February 18.
There have been no claims of responsibility for the attacks. The government blames the al-Qaida linked militant leader Baitullah Mehsud, who is based in a tribal area near the Afghan border.
