팔레스타인 자치지역인 가자 지구를 장악하고 있는 무장세력 하마스가 이집트 쪽 국경의 거대한 철제 장벽을 허물어 뜨리자 팔레스타인 인들의 이집트 유입이 늘었습니다.
25일 수백명의 팔레스타인 인들이 이집트와 가자지구를 가르는 라파 국경통과소에 밀려왔고, 이집트 경찰 당국은 공포탄과 물대포를 동원했지만 이들을 막지 못했습니다. 앞서 이집트 당국은 가자지구와의 국경을 봉쇄하고, 하마스가 파괴한 장벽을 복구할 시한을 정했습니다.
지난주 이스라엘이 가자 지구와의 국경을 폐쇄하자 십만명의 팔레스타인인들이 생필품을 확보하기 위해 이집트로 향했습니다.
한편, 가자의 라파 지역에 이스라엘군이 새벽 공습을 단행하여 4명의 팔레스타인 무장군인과 하마스 지휘관이 사망했다고 팔레스타인 당국은 밝혔습니다.

More Palestinians have crossed into Egypt, after Hamas militants used a bulldozer to knock over a new section of the barrier with the Gaza Strip.
Egyptian riot police fired shots in the air and water cannon today (Friday) but failed to stop hundreds of Palestinians from passing through the Rafah crossing. Earlier, the Egyptian forces began shutting down the border and they set a deadline for resealing a section of the barrier that Gaza militants blew up on Wednesday.
Hundreds of thousands of people have since crossed into Egypt to buy goods made scarce by the blockade that Israel imposed on the Gaza Strip last week.
Separately, Palestinian officials say Israeli air strikes overnight in the Gaza town of Rafah killed four Palestinian militants, including a Hamas commander.
