일본 의회는 이달초 아프가니스칸 연합군 지원임무를 재승인하는 법안을 통과시켰습니다. 이보다 앞서 일본은 야당이 이끄는 의회 참의원이 반대로 지난해 11월 지원임무를 중단했지만, 후쿠다 야스오 총리의 연합여당이 우세한 중의원에서 결국 법안이 통과됐습니다.

A Japanese warship is heading to the Indian Ocean to resume the country's mission to support U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan.
The naval destroyer "Murasame" set sail today (Thursday) from its home base of Yokosuka, south of the capital of Tokyo. The destroyer, along with a support ship that will leave Japan on Friday, will refuel ships participating in the anti-terrorism operation.
The Japanese parliament passed legislation earlier this month re-authorizing the mission. It ended in November after the opposition-controlled upper house of parliament refused to extend the mandate. The measure eventually passed in the lower house, which is controlled by Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda's ruling coalition.
