President Bush has warned Iran of "serious consequences" if it attacks U.S. ships and says all options are on the table to protect American assets.
Mr. Bush made his remarks at a news conference today (Wednesday) in Israel, just days after the U.S. accused Iranian boats of aggressively approaching American Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier today, Iranian officials accused the U.S. military of fabricating video footage that appears to show Iranian military speedboats harassing three U.S. Navy ships on Sunday.
Pentagon officials called the allegation absurd and said it shows Iran is not taking the incident seriously.
At today's news conference, Mr. Bush also discussed the Iranian nuclear issue. He said Iran will continue to be a threat to world peace if it acquires the knowledge of how to build a nuclear weapon.
