선거 당국자들은 25일, 국민의 힘 당이 하원 480석 가운데 233석을 차지했다고 말했습니다. 경쟁 상대인 민주당은 165석을 얻었고, 차트 타이 당은 37석에 그쳤습니다.
홍콩에서 이번 선거를 지켜본 탁신 전 총리는 25일 기자들에게, 빠르면 내년 2월에 태국으로 돌아가기를 원한다고 말했습니다.
그러나, 탁신 전 총리는 귀국해도 정치에는 관여하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다. 탁신 전 총리는 군부의 지원을 받는 태국 정부가 자신을 상대로 제기한 부정부패 혐의에 대해 무죄를 입증하기를 원한다고 말했습니다.

Thailand's Election Commission says final results of Sunday's national election show loyalists of deposed Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra winning, though not with a majority.
Election officials said today (Tuesday) that the People's Power Party captured 233 of the 480 seats in the lower house of parliament. The rival Democrat Party was second with 165 seats, while the Chart Thai Party finished third with 37.
Speaking from Hong Kong, where he was watching the elections, Mr. Thaksin told reporters today (Tuesday) he wants to return to Thailand, possibly as early as February.
Mr. Thaksin said if he does return, he plans to stay our of politics.
He said he wants to prove himself innocent of corruption charges filed against him by the military-backed government.
