터키군 당국은 터키 전투기들이 이라크 북부내 쿠르드족 반군의 목표물들을 폭격했다고 밝혔습니다.
터키군이 이라크와의 국경을 넘어 공습을 가한 사실이 확인된 것은 지난 1주일 동안 이번이 세번째입니다.
터키군은 인터넷의 자체 웹사이트에 발표한 성명에서 터키군이 22일 약 반 시간동안 공습을 단행했으며, 이어 터키국경내에서 이라크쪽으로 포격을 가했다고 말했습니다.
터키군은 성명에서 불법단체로 규정된 쿠르드 노동자당 (PKK) 반군에 대한 공격은 계속될 것이라며, 반군은 터키군을 당해내지 못할 것일라고 말했습니다.
터키군은 22일 최근 군사작전으로 수백명의 PKK 반군 병사들이 숨졌다고 밝혔습니다.
이같은 반군 사망자 수는 따로 확인이 되지않고 있습니다.
이라크 쿠르드족 치안 대변인은 22일 터키군의 폭격사실을 확인했으나, 공격을 받은 곳은 터키와의 국경선을 따라 대부분 사람이 살지않은 지역이었다고 말했습니다.

Turkey's military says its warplanes have bombed Kurdish rebel targets inside northern Iraq -- the third confirmed cross-border attack in less than a week.
In a statement on its Web site, the military says Saturday's airstrike lasted nearly a half-hour, and was followed by shelling from inside the Turkish border. The statement said the offensive against rebels of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, will continue, and that the rebels have no chance against Turkey's military.
The military said Saturday that hundreds of PKK rebels have been killed in the recent operations. The toll could not be independently verified.
An Iraqi Kurdish security spokesman confirmed Saturday's bombings, and said they struck mostly deserted areas along the border with Turkey.
