동아시아 지역 주민들의 20%는 서비스를 받기 위해서 뇌물을 준 경험이 있는 것으로 조사됐습니다. 이는 지난해 같은 조사의 15%에 비해서 늘어난 수치입니다.
국제투명기구는 6일 2007년 국제부패지수 보고서를 통해 이같은 결과를 공개했습니다.
이번 보고서에 따르면 아시아태평양 지역 주민들의 30%는 허가나 등록을 받기 위해서 뇌물을 준 것으로 조사됐으며, 25%는 사법기관에 뇌물을 주기도 했습니다.
또 아시아 지역 응답자의 절반은 앞으로 3년 동안 부패상이 더 악화될 것으로 예상했습니다.
국제투명기구는 이번 조사를 위해 지난 6월부터 9월까지 전세계 60개국 6만3천명을 면담했습니다.

A new survey of global corruption shows that more than 20 percent of respondents in East Asia have paid a bribe to obtain a service -- up from just 15 percent during the previous year.
The survey, called the Global Corruption Barometer, was released today (Thursday) by the anti-corruption group Transparency International.
The study shows that more than 30 percent of bribes in Asian-Pacific countries were paid to obtain permits and registry services. Another nearly 25 percent of bribes were paid to the judiciary.
The survey found that more than 50 percent of the respondents from Asian-Pacific countries expect corruption to increase within the next three years.
Transparency International says more than 63-thousand people were interviewed for the survey in 60 countries and territories from June through September of this year.
