중국 후베이성에서 산사태가 발생해 30여명이 숨진 가운데 구조대가 어제(29) 29구의 시신을 발견했습니다. 중국 당국은 그러나 희생자들의 시신이 상당히 손상돼 있어 유전자 조사를 통해 신원을 확인해야 할 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
구조대는 오늘 후베이성 삼협댐 근처 열차터널공사 현장의 바위돌 아래 찌그러진 버스 안에서 희생자들의 시신을 발견했다고 말했습니다. 대부분의 희생자는 버스안에 타고있던 승객으로 보이며 바위사이에서 발견된 시신 2구는 현장에서 일하던 인부들로 추정되고 있습니다.
이번 산사태는 지난 20일에 발생했습니다.
지역 주민들은 지난해 삼협댐 수위가 오르면서 산사태 등의 사태에 대해 우려해왔습니다. 중국 당국은 그러나 삼협댐과 산사태 사이에는 아무런 연관 관계가 없다고 말하고 있습니다.
Rescuers in central China say 29 bodies recovered from a landslide are so badly disfigured that DNA samples may be needed to identify them.
Rescue workers found a crushed bus Friday underneath the rubble at a railway tunnel construction site near the Three Gorges Dam in Hubei province. Most of the victims are believed to have been on the bus, while two bodies pulled from the rubble may be missing road workers.
The landslide occurred Tuesday.
Local residents have been concerned by what they say has been an increase in landslides and tremors since the water level in the Three Gorges reservoir rose last year.
Chinese officials suggest there is no connection between the dam and the landslide.
