양대 항공기 제작업체인 에어버스와 보잉 사는 두바이 에어쇼에서 각각 대규모 항공기 제작판매를 수주했다고 발표했습니다.
항공기 임대회사인 두바이 에어로스페이스 사는 12일, 유럽의 에어버스와 미국의 보잉사로부터 각각 100대씩 항공기를 구매하는 동의서에 서명했습니다. 이날 두바이 에어로스페이스 사가 서명한 200대의 항공기 구입은 총 270억달러 규모입니다.
최근 유가 급등으로 경제호황을 구가하고 있는 걸프 산유국들은 항공기를 대량 구매해 국제항공노선 확장에 박차를 가하고 있습니다. 일부 페르샤만 국가들은 엄청난 석유수입을 배경으로 국제항공과 금융과 관광의 중심지로 발돋움하기 위해 항공노선 확장에 나서고 있습니다.
두바이에 본사를 둔 에미레이츠항공은 지난 11일, 50대를 추가구입하는 옵션으로 70대의 중형 에어버스 항공기를 구입하기로 했다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.

Airbus and Boeing announced more huge orders for airliners today (Monday) at the Dubai Airshow.
Dubai Aerospace Enterprises, an aircraft leasing company, signed letters of intent to buy 100 planes from Airbus and another 100 from Boeing. Those two deals are worth more than 27 billion dollars.
Soaring oil prices have triggered an economic boom in oil-rich Gulf states, allowing them to greatly expand their airline fleets. Some Persian Gulf nations want larger airlines as they try to turn their area into a hub for aviation, finance, and tourism.
On Sunday, Dubai-based airline Emirates said it bought 70 mid-sized Airbus planes, with an option to buy 50 more. Emirates also announced 11 firm orders for the Airbus A-380 superjumbo.
