한국 정부는 이달 열릴 예정인 남북 총리 회담에서 좋은 결과가 있을 것으로 예상한다고 밝혔습니다.
이재정 통일부 장관은 12일 정례 기자회견에서 서해평화 협력특별지대 설치 및 개성공단 활성화 방안 등이 이번 총리회담의 주요 의제가 될 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 또 총리회담의 주된 목적은 지난달 남북정상회담 합의 사항의 이행방안을 강구하는 것이라고 말했습니다.
지난 10월 남북 정상회담에서 양측은 군사적 대치 상태를 종결하고 긴장 완화를 하기 위해 긴밀히 협조하기로 합의했습니다.
북한 김영일 내각 총리를 단장으로 하는 북측 대표 7명과 한국의 한덕수 국무총리를 비롯한 7명의 남측 대표가 14일부터 3일간 회의를 열 것이라고 이재정 장관은 밝혔습니다.
한편, 한국의 국방부는 11월 말에 평양에서 제2차 국방장관회담이 열릴 계획이라고 발표했습니다.

South Korea says it expects a meeting with North Korea's prime minister this week in Seoul will produce good results.
South Korea's Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung told reporters today (Monday) the talks will focus on establishing a new joint economic zone in the North and how to implement other agreements that were made during a landmark leaders' summit last month.
During that summit, the two sides agreed to closely cooperate to end "military hostility" and "ease tensions."
Lee said that North Korea's Prime Minister Kim Yong Il and a seven-member delegation of officials will begin three days of talks with South Korea's Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, South Korea's defense ministry announced that the second-ever meeting of defense ministers from the two sides will be in Pyongyang in late November (November 27th-29th).
