미국의 우주왕복선 디스커버리 호가 국제우주정거장에서 2주간의 부품 설치와 수리 임무를 마치고 7일, 플로리다 주 케이프 캐나베랄의 케네디 우주센터에 무사히 귀환했습니다.
2003년 컬럼비아 호가 남부 미국으로 재진입하던중 공중폭발한 이후 처음으로 디스커버리 호와 7명의 승무원들은 지구 귀환중에 미국 상공을 비행했습니다.
디스커버리 호 승무원들은 11일동안 국제우주정거장에 머무는 동안 새로운 이탈리아제 모듈을 운반해 설치하고 대규모 태양집열판을 다시 배치했습니다.
이 태양집열판은 펴다가 균열이 생겨 우주인들이 이것을 수리하기 위해 장시간 위험한 우주유영을 하기도 했습니다.

The U.S. space shuttle Discovery has landed safely on Earth after a challenging two-week mission to build and repair components on the International Space Station.
The shuttle touched down today (Wednesday) under clear skies at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
During the landing, the shuttle and its seven-member crew flew across the United States for the first time since 2003 when another shuttle, Columbia, disintegrated during re-entry over the southern United States.
Discovery's crew spent 11 days at the International Space Station delivering and installing a new Italian-built module, and relocating a large solar panel array. The solar panel ripped as it was being unfolded, prompting a risky spacewalk to repair the damage.
