김정일 국방위원장은 이 날 백화원 영빈관에서 열린 환송오찬에서 자신이 마치 당뇨병에 심장병까지 있는 것처럼 보도하는데, 사실은 전혀 그렇지 않다고 말했습니다.
김 국방위원장이 자신의 건강에 대해 언급한 것은 지난 2일 정상회담 일정이 시작된 이후 두번째입니다.
김 국방위원장은 3일 노무현 한국 대통령의 인사말 이후 대통령께서 오셨는데 환자도 아닌데 집에서 뻗치고 있을 필요 없다고 말한 바 있습니다.

North Korea's reclusive leader Kim Jong Il has emphatically denied having any health problems as the two Koreas wrapped up a historic summit in Pyongyang.
Speaking at a luncheon today (Thursday) in the North's capital, Mr. Kim said that he does not have diabetes, heart disease or other health problems as South Korean media frequently claim.
It was the second remark he made about his health during the three day summit.
On Wednesday, when Mr. Roh thanked Mr. Kim for personally greeting him when he arrived, the North's leader told him that he not some "sick patient" that needs to remain indoors all day.
