방글라데시 당국은 1백명에 가까운 어부들이 남부 해안을 강타한 극심한 폭풍으로 바다에서 실종됐다고 22일 밝혔습니다.
방글라데시 바구나 해안지구 당국은 강한 바람과 물결을 동반한 갑작스런 폭풍우가 발생했을 당시 최소 어부 12명이 벵갈만의 배에 승선해 있었다고 밝혔습니다.
해안 경비대가 현재 실종된 선박과 선원들을 찾고 있으며, 당국은 해안 지방에 사는 수백명의 주민들을 안전 지대로 대피시켰습니다.
한편, 폭풍우는 22일 서쪽인 인도의 동부 오리사 주 쪽으로 이동했습니다.

Authorities in Bangladesh say nearly 100 fishermen are missing in rough seas after a severe storm hit the country's southern coast.
Authorities in the coastal Barguna district said Saturday the men were aboard at least 12 fishing boats in the Bay of Bengal when the unexpected storm brought high winds and strong waves.
Coast guard patrol boats were searching for the missing vessels and crew members.
Meanwhile, officials evacuated hundreds of people along the coast to safer areas.
On Saturday, the storm was moving westward toward India's eastern Orissa state.
