중국정부는 중국인민해방군이 미국 국방부의 컴퓨터망에 침투해 해킹했다는 한 신문 보도를 부인했습니다.
중국 외교부의 장 유 대변인은 ‘파이낸셜 타임스’의 이 같은 보도는 근거없는 것이라고 일축했습니다. 장 대변인은 중국은 해킹을 포함해 컴퓨터망을 해치는 모든 범죄 활동에 전적으로 반대하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
‘파이낸셜 타임스’는 4일, 이름을 밝히지 않은 한 전 미국 정부 관리의 말을 인용해 중국 인민해방군이 지난 6월 로버츠 게이츠 미 국방장관의 국방부 컴퓨터망에 침투했으며 그 때문에 1주일간 컴퓨터망의 가동이 중단되었다고 보도했습니다.
하지만 이 같은 보도에 대해 미국은 공식 반응을 내놓지 않고 있습니다.
지난 달 한 독일 언론은 중국군과 연계된 컴퓨터 전문가들이 독일 정부의 첩보원계획과 관련된 주요 컴퓨터망에 침투했다고 보도한 바 있습니다.
중국 정부는 이 같은 독일 언론의 보도 역시 부인했었습니다.
China is rejecting a newspaper report that accuses the Chinese military of hacking into U.S. Defense Department computers.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu called the "Financial Times" report groundless. She said China has consistently opposed criminal activities undermining computer networks, including hacking.
An article published in the British newspaper today (Tuesday) says the People's Liberation Army hacked into the computer system serving the office of Defense Secretary Robert Gates last June. The article quotes unnamed former and current U.S. officials who said the system had to be shut down for a week.
Washington has not formally commented on the report.
Last month, a German news report (in Der Spiegel) said computer experts linked to the Chinese army had infected key German government systems with spy programs.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry also denied that report.
