한편 4일 오전 시드니에서는 200여명의 이라크전쟁 반대 시위자들이 미국의 이라크전쟁 정책에 반대해 시위를 가졌습니다. 오는 8일에는 수천명이 참여하는 대규모 시위가 전개될 것으로 예상됩니다.
President Bush has arrived in Sydney, Australia for an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit after making a brief visit to Iraq.
Mr. Bush is expected to discuss the war in Iraq in a series of talks with world leaders on the sidelines of the summit, which begins later this week.
President Bush's first meeting will be with Australian Prime Minister John Howard, who has been a key U.S. ally throughout the Iraq conflict.
Other issues likely to be raised in Mr. Bush's meetings are the situations in Iran, North Korea, Sudan's Darfur region and Burma.
At the APEC forum, world leaders and officials also will discuss climate change and global trade.
Earlier today (Tuesday), about 200 anti-war activists gathered in Sydney to protest Mr. Bush's Iraq policies. Thousands more are expected to join an anti-war rally on Saturday.
