아프간 탈레반의 인질에서 풀려난 한국인 일행 19명이 1일 대한항공 편으로 두바이 국제공항을 떠나 한국으로 향했습니다.
한국 관계자들은 이들이 현지시간으로 이날 오후 4시 50분 두바이를 떠났으며, 한국시간으로 2일 오전 6시 30분에 인천공항에 도착할 것이라고 말했습니다.
한국 분당시 샘물교회 교인들인 이들은 지난 7월 19일, 봉사활동을 위해 아프가니스탄 가즈니 주를 여행하다가 탈레반 무장세력에 납치됐으며, 그 후 배형규 목사와 심성민 씨등 남자 인질 2명이 처형됐습니다.
일본 교도통신은 탈레반의 한 고위인사의 말을 인용, 탈레반이 한국 정부로부터 인질 19명을 풀어주는 대가로 2천만달러 이상을 받았다고 보도했습니다.
아랍어 위성방송인 알자지라는 한국 정부가 인질 석방을 위해 탈레반에 몸값으로 약 2천만 파운드, 한화로 약 378억원을 지불했다고 보도했습니다.
한국의 송민순 외교통상부장관은 정부가 인질 석방조건으로 탈레반측에 금전적 대가를 제공했다는 이같은 외신보도를 부인했습니다.

A group of 19 South Koreans who were held captive by the Taleban in Afghanistan for six weeks are heading home.
South Korean officials say the group departed from Dubai today (Saturday) and will arrive in Seoul on Sunday.
The Taleban began releasing the church volunteers earlier this week, after striking a deal with South Korean negotiators.
Two female hostages were released during negotiations, and two male hostages were executed during the ordeal, which began on July 19th in southern Afghanistan.
Some have speculated that South Korea paid a ransom to the Taleban to secure the release of the Christian missionaries.
South Korean officials deny that any money was exchanged. However, Reuters news service quotes a senior Taleban leader today who claimed the insurgent group received 20 million dollars.
To secure the release of the hostages, South Korea agreed to withdraw 200 of its non-combat troops from Afghanistan by year's end - which it had already planned to do - and to suspend missionary work in the country.
