Reports say the eldest son of North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has returned home to Pyongyang after living overseas for a few years.
Sources familiar with North Korea say Kim Jong Nam's return in June could be related to Kim Jong Il's plans to choose a successor.
The North Korean leader has never publicly said whether he will choose one of his three sons to carry on the world's only communist dynasty.
His eldest son is believed to have been living in the southern Chinese territory of Macau. Kim Jong Nam had been reported to have fallen out of his father's favor after he was caught trying to enter Japan on a fake passport in 2001.
But a South Korean newspaper ("Chosun Ilbo,") says the 36-year-old son is back in the family circle, working at the Communist Party's important Organization and Guidance Department.
