레바논에서 정치 위기 사태가 해결되지 않을 경우 내전이 발생할 것이라고 프랑스 외무 장관이 경고한 뒤를 이어 레바논의 상쟁 파벌들이 29일 만났습니다.
베르나르 쿠시네 프랑스 외무 장관은 베이루트에서 서방의 지지를 받고 있는 레바논 정부측과 친 시리아계 헤즈볼라 주도의 야당측 대표들을 초청해 오찬을 함께 했습니다.
쿠시네 장관은 정치적 교착 상태가 종식 되기 위해서는 훨씬 더 많은 노력이 필요하다고 말했습니다.
쿠시네 장관은 후에 이집트와 사우디 아라비아 그리고 아랍 연맹의 아므르 무싸 사무총장에게 레바논 정치 사태를 설명하기 위해 카이로로 향했습니다.
베이루트를 떠나기에 앞서 쿠시네 장관은 레바논에 막 도착한 스페인의 미겔 앙겔 모라티노스 외무 장관과도 회담했습니다.
레바논은 파우드 시니오라 총리가 야당에게 거부권을 행사할 수 없도록 만들자 친 시리아계 각료 5명이 사임했을 때인 지난해 11월 정치 위기 사태에 빠졌습니다.

Rival Lebanese factions met today (Sunday) after France's foreign minister warned of civil war if Lebanon's political crisis is not resolved.
Bernard Kouchner hosted representatives from Lebanon's Western-backed government and pro-Syrian Hezbollah-led opposition at a lunch in Beirut.
Kouchner said much more needs to be done to end the political standoff. He said he may return to Beirut in August for more talks.
Kouchner later went to Cairo today (Sunday) to brief the foreign ministers of Egypt and Saudi Arabia and Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa.
Before leaving Beirut, he met with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, who had just arrived for talks in Lebanon.
Lebanon was plunged into a political crisis last November when five pro-Syrian Cabinet ministers resigned after Prime Minister Fuad Siniora refused to give the opposition veto power.
