러시아는 지난 29일 신형 대륙간탄도미사일(ICBM)과 단거리 쿠르즈 미사일의 시험 발사를 성공리에 마쳤습니다.
미국관리들은 러시아는 이란과 북한의 위협에 대응하기 위해 미국이 제안한 10개의 미사일 방어체제를 압도할 거대한 병력을 갖추고있다고 반박했습니다.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says his country's tests of new missiles were a response to U.S. steps he said had upset the strategic balance in the world.
The Russian leader told a Moscow news conference his country did not initiate what he termed "this new round of the arms race." Russia successfully tested a multi-warhead intercontinental ballistic missile and a shorter-range cruise missile Tuesday.
The Russian leader noted U.S. plans for deploying a missile defense system in the Czech republic and Poland and for bases in Bulgaria and Romania.
U.S. officials say Russia's huge arsenal can easily overwhelm the planned 10-missile defense system and insist it is designed to deal with threats from rogue states such as Iran and North Korea.
In his comments, Mr. Putin again said Russia will withdraw from a treaty limiting conventional arms unless NATO countries ratify it.
