영국에서 독살된 소련의 전 KGB 요원 알렉산데르 리트비넨코 씨는 영국의 간첩으로 활동했다고, 독살사건 범인으로 지목된 러시아의 안드레이 루고보이 씨가 말했습니다.
러시아 사업가이자 KGB 첩보원출신인 루고보이 씨는 31일 기자회견에서 이같이 주장하고, 영국 정보요원들은 자신도 채용하려 했다고 말했습니다. 그는 또 영국 정보부가 리트비넨코 씨를 살인했을 가능성이 크다고 말했습니다.
하지만 영국 정부는 루고보이 씨의 주장에 대해 공식 반응을 보이지않고 있습니다.
영국검찰은 루고보이 씨를 지난해 11월 폴로늄 210에 중독돼 사망한 리트비넨코 씨의 살인범으로 지목하고 러시아에 공식 신병인도를 요청했지만, 러시아 당국은 러시아 헌법에 의거해 러시아 시민인 루고보이를 영국으로 보낼 수 없다는 입장을 밝혔습니다.

The chief suspect in the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko says the former Russian intelligence agent was working as a British spy.
Russian businessman and former intelligence agent Andrei Lugovoi told reporters in Moscow today (Thursday) that British agents tried to recruit him as well. He also said British intelligence most likely carried out the killing.
British officials have not responded to his comments.
Britain's ambassador in Moscow last week officially requested Lugovoi be extradited to Britain, but Russian authorities say their country's constitution prohibits extraditing citizens.
Prosecutors say they want Lugovoi to stand trial in Britain for the murder of Litvinenko, who died late last year after being poisoned by radioactive material (polonium-210). Lugovoi says he is innocent.
British police determined that Litvinenko met with Lugovoi and another Russian businessman at a London hotel November first -- the day Litvinenko fell ill.
