미국의 세계적인 음료회사인 코카콜라의 제조비법을 경쟁사인 펩시에 넘기려던 전직 코카콜라 비서에게 징역 8년형이 선고됐습니다.
코카콜라에서 근무했던 조야 윌리엄스는 회사의 기밀 문서와 음료 샘플을 빼내서 다른 두 공모자에게 넘긴 혐의로 지난 2월 유죄를 선고받았습니다. 공모자인 이브라힘 딤슨에게도 5년형이 선고됐습니다.
이들은 지난해 5월 펩시 회사에 코카콜라의 비밀을 넘기겠다고 접근했습니다. 펩시는 미국 연방수사국인 FBI에 이를 신고했습니다.

A former secretary for U.S. beverage maker Coca Cola has been sentenced to eight years in prison for conspiring to sell company secrets to its arch-rival, Pepsi Cola.
An Atlanta jury convicted Joya Williams in February. She had been charged with stealing confidential documents and samples of Coca Cola products and giving them to two other defendants to sell to Pepsi.
One of the co-defendants (Ibrahim Dimson) was sentenced to five years in prison.
The conspiracy was uncovered after Pepsi received a letter in May 2006 offering Coca Cola's trade secrets. Pepsi contacted the FBI and agents carried out an undercover investigation.
