Relief workers say as many as half the 30-thousand residents of the Nahr al-Bared camp have fled since late Tuesday, heading to the nearby Lebanese city of Tripoli and another Palestinian refugee camp (Beddawi).
Escaping residents say bodies were lying in the streets or under the rubble of buildings in Nahr al-Bared. About 75 people -- soldiers, militants and civilians -- were killed since the fighting began Sunday.
Meanwhile, an explosion rocked the Druze town of Aley, east of Beirut late Wednesday. It was not immediately clear what caused the blast or if there were fatalities.
