아프리카개발은행(ADB) 연차 총회가 오늘(16일) 중국 상하이에서 개막된 가운데 원자바오 총리는 축사에서 국제사회가 아프리카의 경제개발 가속화를 도와야 한다고 촉구했습니다.
원자바오 총리는 국제사회가 아프리카에 원조를 제공하는 한편 아프리카의 부채를 탕감하거나 없애고 교역을 확대해야 한다고 촉구했습니다. 중국은 이미 아프리카가 중국에 지고있는 부채 가운데 거의 15억달러를 탕감했다고 원자바오 총리는 덧붙였습니다.
아시아에서 아프리카개발은행 연차 총회가 열리는 것은 이번이 처음입니다. 오늘부터 이틀간 열릴 이번 회의는 아프리카의 사회제반 시설 개발과 빈곤 타파, 그리고 아프리카내 개발을 확대 유지하는 길 등에 초점을 맞출 예정입니다.
중국은 최근 수 년동안 아프리카의 에너지와 천연자원 에 대한 투자를 대폭 늘리는 등 경제 부흥의 새로운 시장 개척을 위해 박차를 가하고 있습니다. 아프리카 개발은행은 아프리카 53개국과 비아프리카권 24개 나라등이 회원국으로 가입돼 있습니다.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has called on the international community to help Africa speed up its economic development, as he opened the annual African Development Bank meeting today (Wednesday) in Shanghai.
Mr. Wen called on the world community to deliver on aid pledges to Africa, reduce and cancel African debt and enhance trade.
He said that China has canceled almost one and a half billion dollars of African debt.
This is the first time the African Development Bank's annual meeting is being held in Asia. The two-day event is expected to focus on infrastructure development, poverty relief, and ways to enhance and sustain development in Africa.
China has invested heavily in Africa's energy and natural resources sectors as it seeks new markets and materials for its booming economy.
The African Development Bank includes 53 African countries and 24 non-African countries from the Americas, Asia and Europe.
