이라크에서 원유의 밀거래와 부정으로 하루 5백만 달러 내지 1천5백 만 달러어치의 원유가 유출되고 있다고 뉴욕 타임스 신문이 보도했습니다.
뉴욕 타임스는 12일자 신문에서 미 의회 회계감사원 GAO의 보고서 초안을 인용해 지난 4년 동안 이라크의 하루 원유 유출량이 10만 배럴 내지 30만 배럴에 달한다고 지적하면서 이같이 보도했습니다.
이 신문은 송유관에 대한 사보타지와 원유생산량의 부정확한 보고 등이 이라크 원유 유출의 원인인 것으로 미 국무부 관리가 말했다고 전하고 있습니다.

A published report says between five million and 15 million dollars worth of oil a day is missing in Iraq, and could have been siphoned off through corruption or smuggling.
Citing a draft report from the U.S. Government Accountability office, "The New York Times" said today (Saturday) the losses amount to between 100 thousand and 300 thousand barrels a day of Iraq's declared oil production over the past four years.
The Times quotes an unnamed State Department official who offered some possible explanations for the losses, including pipeline sabotage, and inaccurate reporting of oil production.
The newspaper says the report did not make a final conclusion on what happened to the missing oil.
The Times said the report is expected to be released next week.
