미국이 올 해 열리는17세 이하 월드컵 본선 출전을 확정지었습니다. 미국팀은 6일 자메이카와의 북중미 예선 최종 경기에서 패하며 18연승 기록이 깨졌지만, 그래도 조 1위로 월드컵 본선에 진출했습니다.
한편 올 해 17세 이하 월드컵은 한국의 8개 도시에서 8월18일부터 9월9일까지 열립니다.
아시아에서는 북한과 일본이 본선에 출전합니다. 한국도 개최국으로 자동출전권을 얻었습니다.
한편 북중미 예선에서는 미국과 함께, 코스타리카, 트리니다드토바고, 아이티, 온두라스가 본선에 올랐습니다.

The United States under age 17 men's soccer team is once again headed to the FIFA U-17 World Cup. It is the only nation in the world to qualify for every World Cup in this age group.
The U.S. team advanced even though it closed out CONCACAF regional qualifying play on Sunday with a disappointing 3-2 loss to host Jamaica. That loss ended the Americans' 18-game unbeaten streak in qualifying matches at this age level dating back to August of 1996.
The U.S. team took a 2-0 lead into the second half of Sunday's match, but the Jamaicans countered with three goals in the second half, including the winner on a penalty kick in injury (stoppage) time. It was Jamaica's only win in the qualifying tournament.
The USA still finished on top of the Group B standings with nine points. Costa Rica and Trinidad and Tobago also qualified from the group. The Group-A teams qualifiers are Haiti and Honduras.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup will be played in eight cities in South Korea from August 18 to September ninth.
