컴퓨터회사인 IBM의 스티븐 브레임 회장은 IBM이 베트남에서 소프트웨어 개발과 서비스를 확대할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다. 브레임 회장은 컴퓨터에 대한 모든 무역장벽을 제거한 베트남의 WTO 가입이 IBM의 낙관적 전망을 고취하고 있다고 말했습니다.
그러나 택배회사인 UPS는 베트남의 불충분한 고속도로와 시대에 뒤진 규정들이 자사의 영업 활동의 장애요인이 되고 있다고 지적했습니다.

Representatives of companies such as General Electric, Boeing and Exxon are in Hanoi to explore investment opportunities following Vietnam's recent entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO).
An executive with the computer company, IBM, (Stephen Braim) said his company plans to expand its software development and services in Vietnam. He said the country's entry in the WTO - which removed almost all trade barriers for computers - encouraged IBM's optimism.
But a representative of express shipping company UPS (Steven Okun) noted that Vietnam's inadequate highways and outdated regulations impede his company's operations.
The United States granted Vietnam permanent normal trade relations in October, and the country joined the WTO in January.
