South Korean police have questioned one of the country's richest tycoons about allegations that he used bodyguards to beat up bar workers who got into a fight with his son.
The chairman of Hanwha Group, Kim Seung-youn, appeared at a Seoul police station today (Sunday) to answer questions about the alleged assaults. Hanwha is South Korea's ninth-biggest conglomerate.
Kim told reporters he was sorry for causing trouble over a personal issue, but did not confirm he was involved in any violence.
The allegations against Kim have made headlines in South Korea, where family-owned conglomerates dominate the economy.
The office of South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun is calling on police to thoroughly investigate the case.
