이라크 북부 지역에서 무장 괴한들이 야지디 쿠르드족 23명을 살해했다고 경찰이 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 무장괴한들이 모술 외곽에 있는 직장에서 퇴근하던 야지디 쿠르드 족을 태운 버스들을 정차시킨 뒤 이들 23명을 도로 변으로 끌어낸 뒤 총격을 가했다고 전했습니다.
이보다 앞서 22일 이라크 수도 바그다드 시내 주로 시아파들이 거주하는 동네 소재 한 경찰서 부근에서 2건의 자살 폭탄 공격이 발생해 12명이 사망했습니다.
이라크의 누리 알-말리키 총리는 국내 종파간 폭력 사태는 대부분 수습되고 있다면서 최근의 폭탄 공격들은 알-카에다가 자행하는 소행이라고 비난했습니다. 말리키 총리는 카이로에서 이집트의 아흐메드 나지프 총리와 이라크 사태 문제를 논의했습니다.
한편 미군은 바그다드 남쪽 지역에서 공습을 전개해 알-카에다와 연계된 무장분자 15명을 살해했다고 밝혔습니다. 그 후 지상군 병력은 무장분자들로 의심되는 3명을 추가로 살해했습니다.

Iraqi police say gunmen have killed 23 members of the Yazidi Kurd religious minority in northern Iraq.
Police say the gunmen stopped buses carrying the Yazidis home from work outside Mosul. They say the 23 were dragged to the side of the road and shot.
Earlier today (Sunday), two suicide car bombers in Baghdad killed 12 people near a police station in the mostly Shi'ite al-Bayaa neighborhood.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki says sectarian violence in Iraq is largely under control and blamed recent bombings on al-Qaida. He discussed the situation with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Nazif, in Cairo.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military says an airstrike killed 15 al-Qaida-linked militants south of Baghdad. Ground troops later killed three more suspected militants.
In Basra in southern Iraq, British soldiers killed a man during a raid on his house.
