미국은 북한으로부터 영변 핵발전소 원자로를 폐쇄중이라고 밝히는 공식통보를 받지 않았다고 미 국무부의 션 매코맥 대변인이 말했습니다.
매코맥 대변인은 영변 핵발전소 원자로 주위에서 새로운 움직임이 미국 인공위성으로 포착됐다고 전한 한국 뉴스매체들의 보도와 관련해 이같이 말하고 미국은 북한에게 원자로 폐쇄과정에 관한 약간의 시간을 더 줄 용의를 갖고 있다고 덧붙였습니다.
중국도 이 보다 앞서 북한의 영변 핵발전소 원자로에서 새로운 활동이 포착됐다는 한국 매체들의 보도 내용을 확인할 수 없다고 말했습니다.
북한은 마카오은행 북한계좌의 동결자금을 돌려받기전에는 2.13 합의에 따른 핵발전소 폐쇄의 첫 단계조치를 이행하지 않을 것이라며 이행마감 시한인 14일을 그대로 넘겼습니다.

China says it cannot confirm South Korean reports of increased activity at North Korea's main nuclear facility.
South Korean media reported Tuesday
that U.S. satellite images show new activity around the Yongbyon nuclear reactor. The news reports suggested Pyongyang may be preparing to shut the facility down as it agreed to in February.
But a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesmen (Liu Jianchao) says the situation at the site is unclear.
In Washington, a U.S. State Department spokesman (Sean McCormack) said the United States has not received a formal notice North Korea is shutting down the nuclear plant. He added that the United States is willing to give the process a little more time.
North Korea missed an April 14th deadline to shut down the Yongbyon nuclear reactor, saying it first wants to get back 25 million dollars of its funds in a Macau bank.
Washington says North Korea can withdraw the money at any time.
