반총장과 누리 알-말리키 이라크 총리가 합동 기자회견을 갖고 있었을 때 로켓포나 박격포 폭발음이 들렸고, 두 사람은 곧 기자회견을 재개했습니다.
이와는 별도로 미군은 지난 1월 카르발라에서 미군 5명을 살해하도록 지휘했다고 주장하는 카자히 조직망 단원들을 바스라와 힐라에서 검거했다고 말했습니다.
무장분자들은 지난 1월 미군 복장을 하고 카르발라의 한 전투 지휘소를 통과 한 후 미군 한 명을 사살하고 4명을 납치해 살해했습니다.
이밖에 이라크의 한 고위관리는 이라크 정부가 지난 몇 개월 동안 여러 수니파 저항 단체들과 회담을 갖고 이들에게 무장해제를 설득하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon was shaken but not hurt today (Thursday) after a loud explosion rocked Baghdad's Green Zone, where he was visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.The U.N. chief and Iraqi leader were holding a joint news conference when the explosion from a rocket or mortar attack occurred. The two men soon resumed the news conference.
In other news, the U.S. military said coalition forces in Basra and Hillah have captured members of the Khazai network that it says was directly connected to the killing of five American troops in Karbala in
January.
In that attack, insurgents wore U.S.-style military uniforms and passed through security at a command post in Karbala, killing one American soldier and kidnapping and killing four others.
In other developments, an Iraqi official said the government has been in talks with Sunni insurgent groups over the past several months, in an effort to persuade them to disarm.
