버마는 북부 랑군의 한 농장 가금류에서 조류독감이 발생했다고 발표했습니다. 이는 최근 수 주사이에 버마에서 발생한 5번째 조류독감 사례인 것으로 알려졌습니다.
버마의 국영언론은 랑군에서 40km 떨어진 마을의 한 농장에서H5N1 바이러스에 감염돼 닭 1천 6백 마리가 죽었고, 나머지 가금류도 예방차원에서 모두 폐사되었다고 보도했습니다.
버마에서는 2005년 이래 조류독감이 한동안 잠잠했었으나
지난달 랑군과 그 일대에서 일련의 사례가 보도되면서 보건당국이 긴장하고 있습니다.

Burma is reporting new cases of bird flu among poultry at a farm north of Rangoon, the fifth such outbreak in the country in recent weeks.
Burmese state media say 16-hundred chickens died from the H5N1 strain of the virus on a farm in Hmawbi township (40 kilometers north of Rangoon) over the past week. The farm's remaining 20-thousand poultry were culled as a precautionary measure.
The state-controlled New Light of Myanmar newspaper says the new outbreak may have been caused by the movement of people and birds in the area. It says authorities have banned the sale and transport of poultry within six-kilometers of the farm.
The latest series of bird flu outbreaks in and around Rangoon began last month. They are the first reported in Burma since March 2006.
