반기문 유엔 사무총장과 아델 압델 마디 이라크 부통령은 이라크의 장기적인 경제성장을 위한 새로운 재건계획을 발표했습니다.
반 사무총장과 마디 부통령은 16일 100여개 국가와 기관 대표들이 참석한 가운데 열린 이라크 재건지원을 위한 유엔 회의에서 ‘이라크와의 국제협정’이라는 이름의 5개년 계획을 발표했습니다.
이 계획은 이라크가 경제, 정치, 치안개혁을 신속히 단행하는 조건으로 국제사회가 정치적, 기술적, 재정적 지원을 하는 것입니다.
이 계획은 또 이라크 경제성장을 위해 이라크의 원유생산량과 수출을 오는 2011년까지 현재의 두 배 수준으로 늘린다는 내용을 담고 있습니다.
이 문제를 논의하기 위한 기부국 회의가 앞으로 몇주 안에 열릴 예정입니다.

U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdel Mahdi have introduced a new reconstruction plan for Iraq based on long-term economic growth.
Mr. Ban and Mahdi unveiled the five-year plan called the "International Compact with Iraq" Friday at a U.N. conference of delegates from nearly 100 potential donor nations and institutions. Ban calls the compact a "tool that will unlock Iraq's potential."
The plan would provide Iraq with international political, technical and financial support in exchange for Iraq making sweeping economic, political and security reforms.
In order to grow the country's economy, the compact also calls for Iraq to nearly double its current crude oil production and exports by 2011.
A donor conference is expected to take place in a few weeks.
