영국 대사관은 수단 정부의 반응이 다르푸르 사태 해결에 큰 퇴보를 가져왔다고 비난했습니다.
유엔 안보리는 이번주말 수단 정부에 대한 제재 방안을 논의할 계획입니다. 한편 중국과 러시아는 제재에 반대할 것으로 예상됩니다.

A U.N. human rights team has accused Sudan's government of direct involvement in planning war crimes in the Darfur region - and blocking international attempts to intervene.
The U.N. team issued the report Monday that says the killing of civilians as well as rape and sexual violence are "widespread." The report says that the Sudanese government has "orchestrated and participated in these crimes.
" The report says the government and what is known as the Janjaweed militia are waging a "violent counterinsurgency campaign... that targets mostly civilians." The report was issued days after a letter from Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir rejected U.N. interim plans to bolster an African Union force in Sudan.
Britain's U.N. ambassador Monday called the letter a major setback. The U.N. Security Council is expected to take up Darfur later this week with U.S. and European members favoring sanctions against the Khartoum government. China and Russia are considered likely to oppose.
